Presented to the APS by John Vaughan who purchased it from the bookseller Thomas Dobson. Vaughan’s copy of the Dobson sales catalog from 1816 is in the Rare Book Vault (017.2 P93). Evidence of the purchase can also be found in “Bills of Parcels and Books 1815-1832” in the APS Archive.
